Fried pork strips…sounds so boring and it was also delish. Be like the Portuguese and come enjoy this place.
The small fried fish are crispy and amazing! This was my favourite meal of the trip. This restaurant is really a spot where older locals have lunch. Simple, reasonably priced, very tasty!
Obrigado, senhor. Vitorino, Armindo e na cozinha Zé Maria.
While consulting a map for a place to eat lunch, a local stopped to assist us. He recommended Rampa do Castelo, and lead us to the restaurant. We were the only tourists there, as it was definitely a local’s restaurant. There was a counter where one chooses a fish, or meat, then orders drinks and takes a seat at long tables. You order dessert later. This was one of the best and most memorable experiences we had while in Portugal. The food was delicious, the ambiance was friendly and cozy. We felt lucky to be there.
